Amy Lifson-Cosby

Amy Lifson is a native of Iowa and has lived in the DC metro area since 1989. She trained in ballet, modern, flamenco, and classical Indian dance with the Dance Theater of the Hemispheres, University of Iowa, National Academy of Arts in Illinois, Ballet Rambert in London, Joffrey II, University of Washington, and Mount Holyoke College (where she was graduated cum laude). She was a dancer with DC’s CityDance Ensemble from 1999 to 2005 and performed with the company at the Kennedy Center, Dance Place, and the Mussorsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia, receiving praise from acclaimed critic George Jackson. She has worked with many outstanding choreographers including Vladimir Angelov, Paul Emerson, Tony Powell, Karen Reedy, Tara Pierson Dunning, Kris O’Shee, Vanessa Edwards, and Bill Evans.
